Sindh Govt Rejects Fake Notification About School Holidays

The Sindh school holidays have become the subject of confusion after a viral notification on social media claimed that Eid al-Adha holidays had been extended for schools across the province. However, the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has officially rejected the claim and described the circulating notification as fake.

Sindh Govt Rejects Fake Notification About School Holidays

In an official statement, the department clarified that all public and private schools in Sindh are not covered by any new holiday extension notification. Authorities urged parents, students, and school administrations to avoid relying on unverified social media posts and instead follow information issued through official government channels.

The clarification comes after a notification began circulating online, claiming that schools would remain closed beyond the previously announced Eid holidays. According to the education department, no such decision has been taken and the viral document is misleading.

Earlier, the Sindh government had announced Eid al-Adha holidays from May 26 to May 28 for both public and private educational institutions. These holidays have already concluded under the official schedule.

At the same time, many private schools have separately announced closures because of the upcoming summer vacations in Sindh, which are scheduled to begin from June 1. Since most private schools also remain closed on Saturdays, several institutions have combined Eid holidays with summer vacations and informed students about an extended break until the end of July.

This situation has caused confusion among parents, leading the education department to issue a fresh clarification. Officials have advised the public to verify any information regarding school holidays in Sindh through official notifications before sharing it online.

For now, the government has made it clear that no province-wide extension of school holidays has been announced.
